update

Hey guys it's me damyon and im just here to tell you what happened to me in the recent esports tournament in my school last week. I was against the best players in school in a game i never played before Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. I have never played Super Smash Bros or anything like it but after playing this game i want to save up and buy it for myself to play along with the gamecube controller to play on my normal Wii. But surprisingly. I won my first 2 rounds due to flukes. Both times they fell of the edge or failed trying to suicide me. I was marth. In the third round i was marth against Bowser. And the dude suicide Suplexed me. I was so mad that after that i was just mashing random buttons during a between game session of Halo: Reach. But i just purchased super smash bros for the original wii. and so far im doing pretty good on it. anyway that's it for this week. and im out

poem review.

Today i will be analyzing The Joy Of Being Poor. Here is the original poem without anything censored

Let others sing of gold and gear, the joy of being rich;
But oh, the days when I was poor, a vagrant in a ditch!
When every dawn was like a gem, so radiant and rare,
And I had but a single coat, and not a single care;
When I would feast right royally on bacon, bread and beer,
And dig into a stack of hay and doze like any peer;
When I would wash beside a brook my solitary shirt,
And though it dried upon my back I never took a hurt;
When I went romping down the road contemptuous of care,
And slapped Adventure on the back -- by Gad! we were a pair;
When, though my pockets lacked a coin, and though my coat was old,
The largess of the stars was mine, and all the sunset gold;
When time was only made for fools, and free as air was I,
And hard I hit and hard I lived beneath the open sky;
When all the roads were one to me, and each had its allure . . .
Ye Gods! these were the happy days, the days when I was poor

Now The person that wrote this is telling us that he is happy with what he has and thinks he has more happiness than rich people because he "slapped Adventure on the back -- by Gad! we were a pair;" while the rich were singing of gold and jewels and have no view of the world outside of their riches. he also said he would feast on "bacon bread and beer"  The bacon and bread i'm guessing is coming from the homeless shelter every night. But he probably bought the beer himself with the money he got. I also searched up what largess means and it doesn't mean the largest of the stars. it actually means generosity in bestowing gifts upon others. So what he means when he says the largess of the stars was mine. He means the gifts of the stars is his and not the largest of the stars was his. So he says when he lacks in gold and jewels he makes up for in the beauty of the world. So according this poem he is very content in what he has and he loves traveling the world. I get that he travels the world because near the end of the poem he says "When all the roads were one to me, and each had it's allure" So i'm guessing he travels a lot and know the roads Here is the link to the full poem. I will cover most of the poem but if you want to read the full poem yourself without any review in the middle than here Now here is the second paragraph

Or else, again, old pal of mine, do you recall the times
You struggled with your storyettes, I wrestled with my rhymes;
Oh, we were happy, were we not? — we used to live so "high"
(A little bit of broken roof between us and the sky);
Upon the forge of art we toiled with hammer and with tongs;
You told me all your rippling yarns, I sang to you my songs.
Our hats were frayed, our jackets patched, our boots were down at heel,
But oh, the happy men were we, although we lacked a meal.
And if I sold a bit of rhyme, or if you placed a tale,
What feasts we had of tenderloins and apple-tarts and ale!
And yet how often we would dine as cheerful as you please,
Beside our little friendly fire on coffee, bread and cheese.
We lived upon the ragged edge, and grub was never sure,
But oh, these were the happy days, the days when we were poor.

Now according to this paragraph he used to live with a male author. Im guessing male author because in the paragraph it says "You struggle with your storyettes,I wrestled with my rhymes."

He also says "But oh the happy men were we, although we lacked a meal." They used to live in a small space with a broken roof and they had broken-down pieces of clothing that were frayed patched and all sorts of stuff. but Still they were happy when they were able to sell a rhyme or tell a story for a bit of money. When they did that they got some food of tenderloins and apple-tarts and a type of beer called ale. I searched up what it was and found it had a bitter taste but had a lot of alcohol in it. Now here is the final paragraph
Alas! old man, we're wealthy now, it's sad beyond a doubt;
We cannot dodge prosperity, success has found us out.
Your eye is very dull and drear, my brow is creased with care,
We realize how hard it is to be a millionaire.
The burden's heavy on our backs — you're thinking of your rents,
I'm worrying if I'll invest in five or six per cents.
We've limousines, and marble halls, and flunkeys by the score,
We play the part . . . but say, old chap, oh, isn't it a bore?
We work like slaves, we eat too much, we put on evening dress;
We've everything a man can want, I think . . . but happiness.
Come, let us sneak away, old chum; forget that we are rich,
And earn an honest appetite, and scratch an honest itch.
Let's be two jolly garreteers, up seven flights of stairs,
And wear old clothes and just pretend we aren't millionaires;
And wonder how we'll pay the rent, and scribble ream on ream,
And sup on sausages and tea, and laugh and loaf and dream.

And when we're tired of that, my friend, oh, you will come with me;
And we will seek the sunlit roads that lie beside the sea.
We'll know the joy the gipsy knows, the freedom nothing mars,
The golden treasure-gates of dawn, the mintage of the stars.
We'll smoke our pipes and watch the pot, and feed the crackling fire,
And sing like two old jolly boys, and dance to heart's desire;
We'll climb the hill and ford the brook and camp upon the moor . . .
Old chap, let's haste, I'm mad to taste the Joy of Being Poor.

Now according to this entire paragraph they are now millionares but they miss when they were carefree and didn't have to meet quotas or be able to explore the world like they could when they were homeless and poor. Now hopefully you guys will be able to enjoy this poem and be able to appreciate it like i have

The amazing spiderman review

Hey guys it's me lightningman and this week im covering the Amazing Spiderman game.

Now this game is awesome. I've played this game once and i beat all of the missions besides the xtreme challenges. I'm currently trying to beat this game again on hero difficulty. Now this game has great game-play mechanics. i love the combat. To me it's a really close second to Spider-Man 3. I don't mean the remake spider-man 3 i mean the old school spider-man 3 I know that that game some people didn't like and the missions were really hard but i loved that game. and now i love this game too. the Graphics of this game alone make this game worthwhile. Sure it's short as crap but it's the good kind of short game in which you can complete it 2 or 3 times and never get bored of it. you can try out different strategies each time you play the game. now I'm on my second time playing this game. Me and my friend Brandon almost 100% the game the night i first got it. it took almost 4 hours or 5 we weren't keeping track of the time. But we did at least 70% game-play. All we had to do was finish upgrading everything in spider-man and his tech and we would have been completely done with the game on human difficulty. But i would definetly advise you guys to play this game it is awesome

Gamification.

Gamification to me is basically making something more like a game. I would love if everything was gamified. If you know me you know that i love all types of games. And class being gamified would be heaven on earth to me.

Making things into a game like a classroom or a course like humanities or health would make that stuff a ton more interesting. Have your teachers ever told you ¨Put that phone/tablet/chromebook/computer away!¨ Well the only reason we do that is because the class is WAY TOO BORING. Yes Mr. Thompson iḿ sorry but your class can be very very boring at times. Also all the other teachers out there. Don´t think you never had a student that has never been bored about your classes. You will fail.

But with gamification your class will become more Interesting and the teachers will just have to focus on teaching instead of telling their students to pay attention the entire class. Plus since they dont have to do that they´ll have more patience with the students and their coworkers.

Plus with your so busy with getting stuff done you can get a lot of xp and gold and stuff so that you can want to be better in class so that you can get more xp and more gold. So gamification can actually help your grades and pay attention even more. i found a website that gave itś opinion in a very clear point here you go guys i hope you enjoy the reading. but anyway im out

Portal 2 review

Hey guys it's me Lightningman. And welcome to my weekly reveiw. And my review for today is Portal 2.
Now spoilers ahead. But the main story of portal 2 is you are in a a research lab. THAT IS ABSOLUTLY GIGANTIC. And you are trying to escape with a robot who has a conscience. (unlike Glados) His name is Wheatley. In the game you are controlling a female character named chell. You pass through several chambers and you find the blue portal gun. With which you can shoot the blue portal, but not the orange portal. You pass through a few more chambers you run across glados and in that chamber you have to turn on the escape pod power. But instead of turning on only the escape pod power, You turn on ALL the power. INCLUDING GLADOS.

And she asks you if you remember killing her at all. Wheatley is surprised that you two know each other. Wheatley is disabled. But joke is on Glados, Wheatley downloaded himself into a new body, and is now trying to save you from glados and get you out of the facility. And that so far is how far i got through the game.

The presentation of the game is beyond great. The Coop in the game i feel is better than the main story itself is the greatest puzzles in the game. like sure in the single player mode you can do your own stuff and just mess around. But when your with somebody, it just feels so good to finish a few levels. Im guessing because it the teamwork that youre working on. Also when your stuck on a level your partner might see what you need to do and youll be able to finish the level quickly,cleanly, and fast..ly. anyway i think the trailer for the coop in portal 2 is awesome.here is the link i hope you enjoy the trailer like i did. Anyway that is all for my portal 2 review. Ill see guys next time maybe i might cover the amazing spiderman game. BYEEE.

the importance of learning

The main task of learning is to gain knowledge that you can use later in life. For example, Math? you use it in almost every job. From scientist to lawyer. Humanities? you use it to learn grammar, rhetoric, history, literature, languages, and moral philosophy so basically you use that for everything.  Gym? you use it for exercise and to make you healthier. also you could use it if you become a gym teacher or a construction worker. The reason your parents and the government and basically every parent or adult ever wants you to go to school is that it helps you prepare for the real world. Now i'm sure you see those cartoons that look at math and say " when will i use this in real life?" I'm sure you think that too. But you'll use that knowledge for the rest of your life. From when you learn it, To your death. Unless the rapture comes in which case you use that knowledge for the rest of eternity. But you know what im talking about. you will use this later in life. But the teachers they try to help you the best they can. They try to make the lessons more intersting by adding more stuff to the class. Which you might feel just cramps too much stuff into too small of class time

Update

Hey guys sry i havent been on my blog as often as id like to but christmas and school and all that. I havent's even checked my blogger since the last blog which was like in 2015 maybe? i think like maybe november/december i checked it for maybe 1 or 2 minutes. Plus there was a new club at the school that i really want to get busier in it's called the CHHS Esports Club. Basically what we do is a bunch of video game nerds get together and play videos games. just at our last meeting we all played some super smash bros.

But lately my mind has been drifting over to Batman arkham asylum
Whoa whoa whoa hold on before you start holding a gun to my head just because i brought up a really old game. Let me just tell you a few things. 1. I just started new game plus and it has opened up so many new paths to go through that i couldn't last time i played the game. Sure it's harder without counter notifications over enemy's heads. also they introduce armoured enemies a little earlier into the game than expected but other than that its the exact same game only you still have your upgrades in new game plus you can try to 100% the game. of which i am currently trying to do right now. i am also trying to 100% the downloadable content. Cat-woman. She is even harder than Bat-man on hard. At least for me i cannot get her controls down. But i found a huge glitch while i was searching youtube i dont know if it was patched or not but here This video was a surprising video that i really want to try when i get home. watch until the end.
Also i found some videos about some easter eggs but this video covered more than i thought there were https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxOM3-cNDA4&spfreload=10
anyway as i was saying catwoman has some seriously tough controls for me to handle i just hope that ill be able to get past poison ivy and her guards. but i wont say to much in case none of you have played or beat it yet. let's just say her missions are tedious
Perfect.
Perfect meme for this.
anyway yes everything about her is tedious. Anyway thats it for my vlog for this week ill talk to you next week. Probably on portal 2. Lots of secret there. Anyway BYE!
